San Diego Software Industry Council - Security Awareness, Training and EducationJune 2nd, 2005
The National Institute of Standards and Technology states: "People, who are all fallible, are usually recognized as one of the weakest links in securing systems. The purpose of computer security awareness, training, and education is to enhance security by: improving awareness of the need to protect system resources; developing skills and knowledge so computer users can perform their jobs more securely; and building in-depth knowledge, as needed, to design, implement, or operate security programs for organizations and systems." Our expert panel will discuss their experience with programs that address security awareness, training and education. They will provide insight into what works and what to avoid when developing programs, and how to make the programs both efficient and effective. |

As the number of databases and applications grows, often organizations are faced with looming increases in maintenance and resources costs. Effectively and efficiently managing an organization’s infrastructure is one of the key challenges many face. Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g with Oracle Grid Control provides a single, integrated interface for administering and monitoring applications and systems based on the Oracle technology stack. The new OEM 10g with Grid Control includes complete monitoring, performance management, distributed database and application server administration, enhanced diagnostics, automated tuning, and an architecture that allows administrators to manage from anywhere. Shaun McLaurin will compare and contrast the approaches of 3rd party products with Oracle's more homogeneous approach. In addition, Shaun will discuss the different components of OEM 10 with Grid Control and how organizations can leverage those technologies to achieve definable success. |
